Dr. Susan Gurry greatly influenced my career path and beliefs related to serving students with severe disabilities. In particular, she promotes the idea that there are no boundaries when seeking greater knowledge and understanding of Autism. Dr. Gurry shaped the development of many remarkable instructional and behavioral interventions, including a functional academic curriculum and a model program for students with severe disabilities in the Boston area. But most of all, Susan Gurry offers providers and students alike experiences that balanced the necessary ABA structures with truly caring, respectful and humanistic approaches.
